White Zinfandel, "Napa Valley", Buehler
A quarter century before "Family Winery" became a trendy term on Napa Valley wine labels, a father and son, John Buehler Sr., and John Buehler Jr., teamed together to build their dream high on the eastern slopes of Napa Valley. Buehler prefers their White Zinfandel to taste like Zinfandel and not some watered-down, mustcat-infused punch. They handpick 100% Napa Valley Zinfandel fruit riper than most producers, which leave less residual sugar. Riper fruit translates to flavors like wild berries and strawberries; yes, real Red Zinfandel fruit flavors! The end result is a wine with more Red Zinfandel berry character and a less sweet, more refreshing taste than your average White Zinfandel.

School House White, " Missouri", St James
Grape and wine productions have a long history in the St. James area. Officially recognized as the Ozark Highlands, this region is fondly known as "Little Italy of the Ozarks" thanks to the establishment of an Italian settlement in the area more than 100 years ago. The Italians who settled there planted vineyards, and by 1922 over 2000 acres of grapes on about 200 vineyards dotted the landscape. Over the years a strong Italian heritage and influence has remained in the St. James area. The actual schoolhouse used to educate the Italian immigrant's children is adjacent to the winery's vineyards. Fresh, light, fruity and made from a blend of French hybrid and American grapes, School House White balances nice acidity with just enough sweetness and a hint of lemon.

Pinot Grigio, "California", Montevina
In 1970, Montevina became the first new, post-Prohibition winery in the Sierra foothills. Located in the Shenandoah Valley of Amador County, its first wines were released in 1973 and it thereafter became the foothills' flagship vinter. Indeed, Montevina's success inspired a revival of the historic foothill wine industry, attraction a new generation of vinters to the region's rolling, sun-baked hillsides. Relatively few acres of Pinot Grigio are planted in California, and Montevina is one of a small number of wineries to produce it. Montevina's Pinot Grigio boasts a bright straw color with greenish tints and an aroma of ripe Bartlett pears with an appealing floral spice tone. On the palate, it is fresh, smooth, and richly flavored, again suggesting juicy pears, with hints of peach and apricot. The wine finishes with a long, clean, crisp aftertaste. This delightful, distinctive wine beautifully accompanies all seafood and poultry dishes, as well lighter pastas and mildly flavored cheeses.

Chardonnay, "Vin du Pays", Fat Bastard
For this wine, Thierry Boudinaud, a renowned winemaker collaborated with Guy Anderson, a friend from London who was a rebel in the wine industry. Conceived when Thierry thought he would have Guy try and experimental wine he had in a few barrels in the back of the cellar, both had no idea that leaving the wine in barrel on the lees (yeast cells) would result in such a dramatic difference in the wine. It had a wonderful color and rich, round palate. Both men stood and stared at each other for what like five minutes until Thierry exclaimed "now zat iz what you call eh phet bast-ard" Guy laughed with a belly laugh you could clearly hear in the neighboring town. He had used the expression Fat bastard often to describe things that were great but hearing it in a French accent made it so much funnier. This 100% Chardonnay is a pale golden color with green tints. Elegant and powerful on the nose with hints of vanilla, hazelnut and toast. Round and full on the palate with aromas of white flowers and vanilla.

Sauvignon Blanc, "Napa Valley", Duckhorn
To ensure the highest level of quality in bottling Duckhorn has been sourcing fruit from some of the finest sites in the Napa Valley for over twenty-five years of winemaking. Their estate vineyards are located n alluvial fans of the Napa Valley and on the slopes of Howell Mountain. Because of its topography, soils, and climate, Howell Mountain has distinctly different grape-growing conditions than does the valley floor. Often during the summer months, the maritime fog seeping into the Napa Valley below will not reach the mountaintop. While this blesses the mountain with temperatures that are more moderate and with more hours of sun, the vines must struggle to survive in harsh volcanic soils of gravel and clay. This full-flavored Sauvignon Blanc opens with a rich creamy texture highlighted by tart acidity that leads to a long soft finish. The aroma is heady with vanilla, orange blossom and toasted oak followed by a medley of tropical fruits including banana, pineapple, and lychee. The flavors are of ripe lemon, green apple, fresh grass, and a hint of apricot.

The entry is smooth, with concentrated tastes of pear, apple and clove. The middle is a smoothly textured cascade of fruit flavors and the finish recalls fleshy, segmented pink grapefruit.

Just four miles from the Pacific Ocean, Edna Valley Vineyard has the longest and coolest growing season in California. The vineyard's unique site consists of layers of clay and volcanic rock over ancient ocean subsoil. Smoky aromas of vanilla oak and sweet spice balance lush white peach and citrus aromas. In the mouth, the wine displays a remarkable fullness, and the fruit and subtle mineral flavors persist long after the wine is consumed.
